Found in a tomb at Thebes in Luxor in 1860s, the Ebers Papyrus is the longest and best-preserved medical scroll to survive from ancient Egypt. It is 18.63 metres long, runs to 108 columns, and holds roughly seven hundred prescriptions the working knowledge of physicians who practised three and a half thousand years ago.
